Road2Research is a student-run organization that aims to foster interest in research and build a network of mentors for underserved high school students in Philadelphia. Our program is 100% free of charge for participating students, as our aim is to lower the barriers for aspiring scientists and lifelong learners.
Many established programs exacerbate the gap in educational equity by adding on an outrageous price tag, such as Penn’s Biomedical Research Academy, whose 3-week tuition is more than twice the median income in Philadelphia. R2R bridges this gap in Philadelphia by providing early exposure to biotechnology and research through hands-on lab experiences and eye-opening mentorship.
